CNC Turning
On CNC lathes, there are 4 standard threads for turning metric, imperial, modulus, and diameter controls. No matter what kind of thread is turned, a strict active relationship must be maintained between the lathe spindle and the tool. That is to say, for each revolution of the spindle (that is, one revolution of the workpiece), the tool moves one lead interval on average. If the thread is machined on a CNC lathe, it can be outlined with a drawing. The following subdivisions can be divided into direct cutting method of radial knife, controlled turning method of rotary knife, and oblique cutting method of side knife.
1. Straight forward method: suitable for small spacing, guide rail less than 3mm, choose G32 or G92.
2. Inclined approach: The tool is not easy to cut, and the G76 command is preferred when there is no undercut.
3. Control turning method: large tooth profile, large pitch, guide rail greater than 5mm, macro program.
CNC Milling
That is, thread milling, milling with a disc milling cutter or a comb milling cutter on a thread milling machine. Disc milling cutters are mainly used for milling trapezoidal external threads on workpieces such as screws and worms. Comb milling cutters are used for internal milling, so normal and tapered threads are used. Multi-edge milling cutters are used for milling. The length of its working part is greater than the length of the processed thread. The workpiece can be processed by rotating 1.25~1.5, with high productivity. The pitch accuracy of thread milling can generally reach grade 8~9, and the surface roughness is R5-0.63μm. This method is suitable for thread machining with general precision and rough machining before grinding. Helical bevel milling by a rotating tool produces threads.
Tapping
Tapping is to use a certain torque to rotate the awl to the pre-drilled bottom hole of the workpiece to process the internal thread. The threading is to use the die to cut the external thread on the rod (or pipe) workpiece. The machining accuracy of tapping or threading depends on the accuracy of taper or die. Although there are many ways to process internal and external threads, small diameter internal threads can only be processed with taps. Tapping and tapping can be performed manually, or lathes, drilling machines, tapping machines, tapping machines, etc. can be used.
Whirl Milling
CNC whirl milling machine single-head multi-head, worm, screw, nut and other thread products, the processing efficiency is increased by 10-30 times, the processing accuracy is improved by two poles, the brightness reaches 0 times, 8 um. There is no difference in processing technology between whirl milling and CNC milling. The main reason is that the blade is mounted inside the cutting disc, rotating the cylindrical part while cutting the thread. high efficiency!
